Summer Camps

Outdoor summer camps, especially water sports camps, can be so refreshing and fun. Many of the outdoor summer camps introduce and hone skills, and attitudes, with our children that will benefit them for their entire lives.

Choose wisely the summer camps that you are allowing your children to attend.

Just as I recommend visiting and hanging out in academic classes that our children attend, I recommend checking out the summer camps that they are participating in. When the camp begins go with your children and stay for a while to observe some of the activities, as well as watching the behavior of the children that your children will be with.

In the same way with academic classes, if  you feel there is a problem or an attitude of invasion about you, as the child’s parent, hanging out and observing, I think that can be a sign or signal that the supervisors/instructors don’t have the correct, or best attitude to supervise OUR children. If there is just plain unacceptable behavior by the supervisors, the other children, and/or a lack of supervision, I recommend taking the child out and getting a refund. Be strong about your children’s welfare. Don’t be pressured to do anything that you feel is not right.

Just as we sign agreements that if our child doesn’t abide by the rules and expectations or they will be removed with no refund, we can excercise our rights to remove our child for immoral behavior, lack of supervision, and/or anything else we feel is wrong to be done with our children. Be sure to read the fine print when signing “camp” agreements. Ask to check it our first, just like walking into a restaurant with a buffet, check it out before you commit.

Our children are some the most precious and fragile treasures we have, and will ever have. The most important and valuable commodity under our control is the time we spend with our family. Group activities and camps can be fun and good for new experiences with skills and equipment that we don’t have, and they can be very enriching.

Please, choose the camps, activities and supervisors, wisely.

Summer Camp – Now is the Time To Get a Discount Price on Youth Camps

Many summer camps will give substantial discounts for registering your children now for a session this coming summer. Waiting until May, or even April, may be a costly decision. It’s much better to discuss the options and ideas with your child now, and decide on the summer activities and camps, or even just make decision yourself, and surprise your child this summer with the activities and camps you know they will enjoy. Either way, it will save some money and ensure your child has a place in the session you need for them this coming summer if you register them in the next couple of weeks.

Many outdoor / sport camps can be found on the site through the following link:

Some of the most wonderfully lasting memories and friendships are made during a child’s summer camp experiences. Please choose the camp carefully and thoughtfully. Don’t wait and then feel like you have to rush into anything. Few, but some of the experiences for children have been disastrous. Be wise. Start searching and calling now, and be thorough with your research and inquiries of the camps you think you would like for them to attend.

Summer Camps For All Ages All Year Long

What in the world are summer camps all year long, and for all ages.

We conduct an Academic Boat Building Workshop that many youth centers and summer camp organizations have had us do with their “summer camper goers” for a unique activity to add to their summer camp line up. And it has been very fun and successful with the children/youth in many areas of the eastern U.S.A. as well as the caribbean. But this is fun any time of the year, and fits right in with the school year activities also because we use the boat building to show the practical use of math & science applications, as well as geography & history studies, and even the practical use of language arts, visual arts and of course physics and biology research. the list goes on.

Though, the most fun is actually building the boats and then using them out on the water.

Your school group will have an absolute blast doing the Academic Boat Building Workshop with us. It is one of the most effective team building, esteem building and practical life application projects that a group of people can do together. check it out:

Summer Camps Rule

When you send a child to a summer camp that is real watersports and actually takes them into the surf, or out on the ocean, to truly experience and learn about the skills and joy involved in surfing, fishing, sailing, kite boarding, SCUBA, snorkeling, etc. you have just created, not just a life time memory, but a life changing experience and lesson. If the watersports camp director, guides, and coucelors, etc. are actually skilled, experienced and able to facilitate the learning of the particular watersport skill of the sport that you have sent the child to experience, they will show and lead the child in a learning experience that will send the child into awe. Not many summer camps can actually facilitate this phenomena, but some can. You will find some such youth camps at the site through the following link:
